So much has been said in this heart-warming tale in such a little number of pages.
I went into this expecting and knowing expecting absolutely nothing even though I had heard about this one a lot. It sucks to realize that we are all growing out of the child inside us, the one that knows what really matters, the one that tames and the one that is tamed. I want to hold on to that child inside me so tight and let go of the “matters of consequence”, which are essentially so inconsequential in our lives. Does all of it that we do and believe important, really is?
We keep questioning our lives and fate, never trying to look back and change us. As we grow up, our imagination gets lost, coz we ain’t got any time for the magic that supposedly does not exist.
Maybe once in a while we should just close our eyes and open our hearts to the world. And the let the child take over.
“And now here is my secret, a very simple secret: It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye.”
We are so entwined in our own lives that we often forget about how we affect other lives and how other lives affect us.
This such a beautiful, thought-provoking journey to childhood and adulthood, love and friendship, of things that do matter and things that should, things that we as adults often ignore.
Highly recommended to everyone!
After all, “All grown-ups were once children…but only a few of them remember it.”
