“My Love is Away from Mortality” – Book Review | Immortal Love.. or is it?

To be honest.. I had started the book with zero expectations but reading the prologue was enough to set my expectations way up there. A romance book whose prologue speaks of a town called Salistona, where only evil spirits reside and there celebration culminated with possessing and burning a human alive to please their Lord? To top it all.. a human is already stuck amidst them.. I was expecting the best of things after reading just this one page!!!

After that it starts off as an ordinary story with the protagonists attending middle-school.. their lives, dreams and friendship. I however, kept finding myself looking for more from the setting of the prologue. It was mentioned once in a while but for too less a time. Also, too less happened in the first 160 or so pages and then the story started rushing in.

I was enjoying the book but the fact that I kept looking for more of Salistona took away a lot of it.. Also, the wrap-up of the book felt a little messy and hurried. The plot twist at the end does help in redeeming some of it though.

I laud the author for taking up such a different concept! Very unique when it comes to the romances we usually have around. There was so much to explore in the plot that my expectations crashed at the way it was executed. The book ends in a cliff-hanger which gives me hope that the author will do more justice to the concept in the next book!

What will you do if the love you nurtured with utmost care walks in to the territory of evilness?
Manav, an atypical sleepyhead cares about nothing but his sleep. Life is good for him as long as he is in the premises of his bedroom.
Aditi, a pro-level pessimist boasts her proficiency in envisioning worst possible consequences of every situation.
After bumping in to each other, the course on which their life was previously treading begins to witness a complete transformation. The tender age pushes them to believe what they shared was more than a mere comradeship. They try to repel the feeling at first, but it intensifies to such an extent that both of them end up getting swallowed by it. However, they must keep an out for the lurking danger as there is a person who is on the quest to bereave them of something which will certainly put their and whole world’s fate in jeopardy.
How will their destiny unfold?
